World Ocean Day is celebrated to create awareness of our human impact on the ocean and marine life and inspire action to protect and preserve it.
This year, Metallix are teaming up with Love A Sea Turtle (LAST) – a local Pitt County environmental youth leadership organization focused on taking an active role in community and good causes. Metallix employees will have the opportunity to perform a river clean-up using kayaks from River Vibes and Inner Banks Outfitters, engage in programs at the NC Estuarium (the world’s first estuarium!) focusing on best environmental practices and highlighting eastern North Carolina, perform water quality testing, and enjoy food, drink and music.
